I am using a Velocity Micro Promagix system with an ATI 3850 w/2 dvi outs. I tried to use my 17" emachines CRT monitor in both ports using an vga-dvi adapter, with no success. Then tried my 17" acer LCD using a vga-dvi adapter, no success in either port once again. However, my 50" hitachi projection tv works fine using a dvi-hdmi cable in either port from the video card.

What the deuce?!?!?

The adapter is bad?
Check for bent pins.

Have tried multiple adapters.

I went and looked at Acer's drivers. I did not see any specifically for Vista. Perhaps that is the problem.
