Hi i am building a new gaming PC.

CPU: Intel® Core™ I7-965 Processor Extreme Edition (3.20 GHz)
Memory: 2GB, Ballistix Tracer 240-pin DIMM (with LEDs), DDR3 PC3-12800 memory module.

i would like to know if ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 and DX58SO board compatible to each other..

Save yourself 700$ and take a i7 920. It overclocks about as well as an i965 and the qpi bandwith doesn't affect performances at this point in time.

Also, 2gig is ftl, go for 3x2gig to use that triple-channel ddr3 tech.

Thanks for your suggestion i will consider getting the 920 instead of 965... but what i'm really after is that the DX58SO should work properly in ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 or should i get the asus rampage II motherboard..
