Background noise

I am using windows XP, mostly i use windows sound recorder before it records very clearly,but from few months i m getting to much background noise like i am sitting in machine factory and recording sound

Have you changed microphones? Updated your sound driver? Have you tried changing the gain (the volume control for the mic input)?

yes i have changed microphone and many time i reinstall may window and update driver,please can u help me to find out this problem??
