So im ordering my mobo and chip tonight and was wondering if the Phenom II X4 955 is going to work out of the box. ASUS site says since PCB ALL and Since Bios 0302. The board was out of stock earlier this week but they are ready to ship now what are the chances ill have the later bios and reversion? Did yours work out of the box? Should i have a bios update ready on a flash drive? thanx for any info.

Let's hope that the board comes with the later bios as you will not be able to boot the system with your processor if it has an earlier bios version and you will need a processor that the earlier bios supports to be able to boot the system to load the new bios into the board for support of the processor of your choice. What Bios versions have you guys got with your crosshair 3 board?

I just put the same configuration together 10/5/2009 and it worked right out of the box. I ordered from directcanada.com. I don't know the BIOS version at this time though.

I Hope So. I'm planning on purchasing the 965 and installing it into this board. Most reviewers postings (and I've read many ) say this is no problem and the board should boot 955's and 965's right out of the box. As Shabaa stated this may depend on the bios version.
