Intel E8500 site state that ;
"64-bit computing on Intel architecture requires a computer system with a processor, chipset, BIOS, operating system, device drivers and applications enabled for Intel® 64 architecture. Processors will not operate (including 32-bit operation) without an Intel® 64 architecture-enabled BIOS. Performance will vary depending on your hardware and software configurations. Consult with your system vendor for more information"
I am unable to find out from intel's note OR Mobo manufacturers if the the above note stops a G43 motherboard using an intel E8500 with a 32 bit OS !!
I am aware that you can only see below 4GB memory, but what about all other 32bit software applications and devices !!
Surely they do not expect system builders to call them all !! to see if it works !!
