Hi,
i wanted to upgrade my imedia 2569 graphic card, it currently has a Geforce 7300se graphics card, i wanted to know what is the best graphics card i could get for this computer.

It currently has a 250W psu i know thats low so i have been thinking of uprading that to a corsair 5-600watt, what troubles me still is my processor: i currently have 'Intel Core 2 6300 @ 1.86GHz' and am unsure as to which graphic card this limits me to.

The full specs. of my computer are available here:

Thx 4 ur help [in advance].

What size / resolution monitor are you using? Have a budget in mind?
You could get a HD 4670 and 350W PSU for around $100.

my monitors resolution is 1440x900 apparently i believe

[can't find much info on the internet on it : but this is the same monitor i have: http://i35.tinypic.com/b8n68x.jpg sorry i'm no genius with comps lol.]

I'm not 'too' concerned about budget but around £150-170 which is about $230-260 approx i think, i was thinking i could go up to around £100 on the graphics card itself.

i had seen nVidia's 8800gt but im not sure that is best for my comp considering the processor i have

You certainly could with that budget.

One of the new HD 4770s and a good 400W PSU would be in your target range and not totally excessive GPU overkill considering your 1.86GHz C2D CPU.

so not an 8800gt ? is the HD 4770 'as good as it comes' for my comp?

Corsair 400CX £43 inc VAT and XFX ATI Radeon HD 4770 £89 inc VAT or maybe XFX GTS 250 £100 inc VAT

Will need to check for any technical issues with a PSU swap and if the size of the cards is compatible with that case.

probably not - but it's close to your price range, and a good match for your CPU IMO.

You could spend more, get a more powerful card and PSU and then move the PSU / GPU to a new, future PC too.

The best way I know to check compatibility issues is to work through the Packard Bell forums.
See what other iMedia 2569 owners from done for their own upgrades, and maybe even ask a question or two there.
