Some newbie questions on i7 build

I bought the components for a new i7 system (Asus P6T, i7 920, EVGA 260 OC). I have some basic questions.

1. The system will not POST. The Asus P6T motherboard manual says that there should be a beep, but I do not hear one. Does the motherboard have a speaker, or should the case (Antec P182) have a speaker, or what?

2. I bought an OEM Lite-On DVDR drive. I want to connect the audio wire from the drive to the motherboard, but I don't think the drive came with such a wire. Should the motherboard package provide this?

Try just using 1 stick of ram, and make sure you install it in the second set of dimms farther away from the CPU

Did you remember to plug in the 8-pin CPU power connector in addition to the 24-pin motherboard power connector?

(2) Even most Retail DVD burners no longer include the optical drive -> motherboard audio cable. It's all digital over the SATA (or IDE) data link.

P182 has no internal case speakers.

Did you remember to plug in the 8-pin CPU power connector in addition to the 24-pin motherboard power connector?

You're right, I didn't connect that. What connector from my PSU (a Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750W) should I use? It has connectors for 24-pin, SATA, PCI-Express, and 4-pin (molex?).
