ECS A780GM-A
athlon 64 x2 4200+
4GB DDR2800
Radeon 4850

i'm thinking the cpu is due for a change. i was looking at the phenom x3 710. what do you guys think? also, if ECS lists my board as AM3 ready, and added the phenom x4 810 to the supported cpu list for my board, is it safe to assume that the 710 would also work with it? any feedback is welcome.

Personal opinion, switch everything to fit an intel E8400, 8500, or 8600. I've had 2 AMD processors, both have failed me. But if you have socket AM2+, try the 6400+, its a dual core that runs at 3.2ghz. 125 watts though, so make sure your board can handle that. Message for more details, if you want them

my board only supports up to 95W, and i'm not switching to intel at this point. i'll upgrade to an i7 system over the summer.
