I'm going to be running about 125-150 feet of cable, and it's going to
be going past some high voltage lines used to operate a couple of
lathe's and mills. Are there any particular brands or types (quad
shielded?) that I should get.
(Some background details below if anyone is interested).
I recently had a DirecTV installed with several receivers -- the house
was already wired in a standard star-configuration (into the family
room, out to the various points) with RG 59/U.
Except...in one room I'd bought a 500 foot roll of RG 6 from Home Depot
and ran it. Well, all of the RG 59/U is working like a charm, but I had
a problem with the RG 6. I think I may have had a bad roll, because
I've had to replace two large sections in order to get it to work (and
no, it wasn't hit with a staple).
Anyway, I patched it with a 50 foot length of RG 6, and a couple of 12
foot lengths of RG 59, and it's working, but I want a more
"professional" type installation -- at most one connection from where I
start to the room where the cable ends, all tucked away nice and neat.
My only problem is what kind of cable to use.

Who is your service provider?
Dishnetwork or DirecTV?

DirecTV. But it was my wire (I bought it a year or so before getting
the satellite), and I doubt if they'll provide a replacement. So, what
kind of RG 6 cable should I get?

As long as it's shielded RG-6 it should be fine. You don't need quad.
You say that you're running the cable past some High Voltage lines.
I'm relatively certain that you aren't running them even remotely close
enough to be of consequence, unless you are doing something that is WAY out
of the ordinary and illegal.

Well, yes, I'm doing something a bit out of the ordinary -- otherwise I
wouldn't have the high voltage lines, but to the best of my knowledge,
it's not illegal. There's a 3 phase generator there as well.
