Hi all,

I have an E6600 processor (Socket 775) at the moment, and I am playing Starcraft II. Usually about twice a night I hear a loud beep from my computer while I'm gaming. I figure this is due to overheating of the processor. The game has only frozen once or twice, but I believe I should get a new heatsink to remedy this problem. The heatsink I currently have on there is the stock heatsink. I just need a heatsink that is going to make the beeping stop, and as I am not overclocked I don't think that should be hard to find a relatively inexpensive one. My budget is $50 and I have one other stipulation: I do not want to remove the motherboard to install the heatsink.

Can anyone please recommend a heatsink / fan that will meet my needs?

Thank you for your time!

If you change your mind about removing the motherboard I can recommend the Cooler Master Hyper 212+. Unless you have a slim case. The 212+ needs 158.5mm, ~6.25in, of clearance from the top of the CPU. http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6603

It meets your price range at least. NewEgg has it at $49. But I often see it for around $30.

Buy.com - $30.24 with free shipping.

Amazon - $29.75
