Okay so I hook up my PC to my HDTV with HDMI and 3.5mm to RCA. When moving my mouse or loading a game I hear a lot of feedback from my tv speakers. I know it probably has to do with the onboard audio and using analog cables, but my HDTV doesn't have optical inputs for sound and my PC doesn't output HDMI audio.

The only thing I can think of to solve this problem is to buy an optical to analog converter, buy a dedicated soundcard, or use external speakers.

The converters are expensive and I don't like using external speakers so does anyone have any suggestions for minimizing that buzzing sound I'm getting?

also, would a cheapo soundcard sound worse than my onboard HD audio?

What video card do you have? Any Radeon with the RV770 chipset will output audio through hdmi, and newer Nvidia cards you can hook up a spdif cable to do the same.
