So here are all the components I'm wanting to put together.

This is going to be my first build so ALl that I know is from what I've been researching for the past few days. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

NZXT Tempest Case $110

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500Gb HD $70

Asus M3A79-T Deluxe $195

AMD Phenom II X4 940 processor $229

Vendetta 2 120mm Fan&Heat sink $45

Corsair CMPSU-850 tx PSU $220

Patriot Extreme performance DDR2 2x2Gb 1066 RAM $69.99

Video Card GEFORCE GTX 260 896MB

Most likely be running Windows 7 Beta and XP

I'm wanting the PC for gaming and my school work

I know the power supply is probably a bit much but its only $10 more than the 750 W corsair and I'd like to have it thru upgrades in the future

What size / resolution monitor do you plan to be using?
The GTX 260 won't help your future goal of a possible CrossfireX system. You might want to consider the HD 4870 instead.

Thanks for the Hard drive suggestion, I think ill spend the extra 15$ and take your suggestion. the 750W corsair power supply is only 10 dollars cheaper than the 850 W PSU, so i think I'm going to stick with that one for now if for nothing else but not having to worry much about it later

for the moment I plan on just using my 40" 1080p samsung LCD HDTV until I can afford a separate monitor. I was looking into the 4870 as well but I'm not really on the up and up about the differences and wh ythe 4870 might be a better decision or not. Any help would be appreciated Is this the 4870 you're talking about 4870 1GB Because i noticed that there a bunch of different types. I certainly can't afford the X2 version

1920x1080 resolution (or 1920x1200 24" and up) monitors are where dual GPU video cards start to make a real sense IMO.
GTX 260/216 896MB and HD4870/1GB are very close in performance. Since your motherboard can't use dual GTX 260s it probably makes more sense to go with a 4870/1GB now and give yourself the possibility of adding a 2nd in the future.
