I would go for WD Caviar Black over the Samsung. WD seems to be kicking @$$ and taking names at the moment, and their black series has good performance.

Question: do you really need the ability to burn blu ray discs, or would a blu ray player suffice? (savings ~100)

what are you using this computer for? If you could go with an HD 4870 1 gig you could save another couple hundred, enough for a T240.

ALso, you might want to go with a different case where you aren't buying the fans. It's adding to your price, and the antec 900 hovers in the 120 dollar range

imo the 295 is too pricey for what it offers. Go with a 4870x2 or a 285.

As for the hdd, try the WD caviar black 1tb. I assume you want raid0 which seems a bit risky to do on a pair of 1tb drives. Perhaps using a single wd velociraptor 300gig for system/programs and 1tb for data would give you similar performance at only slightly higher price with more reliability. Alternatively, just get a 3rd one in an external enclosure for backups.

As for monitors, I personally went with a benQ 24inch G2400WD and am very satisfied. Look it up to see if you can get one for cheap.

Change the cooler to Xigmatech HDT-S1283, cheaper and better performance.

Change the PSU to PC Power & Cooling 750W, save $100.

Change the GPU to GTX285 or HD4850x2, save $200+ and still enough power for a 24" monitor.

And get the BenQ G2400WD or V2400W monitor.

i would be using this computer for hardcore gaming. not just the lazy stuff most of the people do. i like ALL of my games to be running 16xQ AA, highest settings, and at 1920x1200 at a smooth 80+ fps.
after looking at the benchmarks, the 295 seems to be the best especially when i plug in another one after a while.

as for the CPU cooler, im going to go with the Vigor Monsoon 3. the ones that were suggested do not fit socket 1366

i have had bad experiences with Western Digital, and Samsung has always done good for me, plus its cheaper, so thats why i chose it. if i find a way to save money, i may change 1 of them to a velociraptor, but those things are so expensive D: if i can find a good hard drive combo that wont cost much, i will get that but these samsungs are so freaking cheap!!!

and for the case, the antec 900 does look good so im gonna consider it highly. i do want to know, however, if it will be sturdy enough for me to take to LAN partys

as for the monitor, i think i will use the samsung t240 i already have and just buy a cheaper one for my older computer (im gonna take it to florida for when im on vacation :D)

PSU is big cause i want to quad sli the gtx 295 in the future

Thanks for the suggestions :D

If there is anything that will groundbreakingly change the price without making it too much worse, please tell me!

and yes i do want to burn blu ray discs
