Problems with asus P6T (regular one)

Last response: in Motherboards
Share

Hello everyone

I was building my new core i7 system last night ,I installed the cpu in the mobo with 3 sticks of ram in the orange slots, a video card and then I plugged the 24 pin and 8 pin connectors and the 2 pci express power connectors for the video card, right after I tried to turn on the system, but the motherboard would not POST and I noticed that there were no beeping sounds from the speaker. These are the things I tried after that:

-->Reseat wires and power connections, nothing different happend......

-->Tried to boot with just one memory slot ( the first orange one from left to right), and had no change

-->Unnistall and reinstall graphics card in another pci-express slot, and no change again.

I believe that i just have a bad mobo , but i wanted to know if there is something else i can try before RMA

This is the system:

-->Intel core i7 920
-->Asus P6t MOBO (regular one)
-->3 Gigs of Corsair 1.5 volts DDR3 memory
-->Evga Geforce GTX 275 896 DDR3
-->Corsair 750 watts PSU (Non modular)

Any help would be appreciated...............................

I would say it is either you Mobo, or possibly a bad PSU. Have you tried using a different PSU?

Also have you tried any other RAM? You said you bought three sticks of RAM, and tried only with one stick. Have you tried the other two sticks of RAM only one at a time? Maybe that one stick you tried to use was the bad one?

Im not sure whats wrong, but them are just suggestions that might help out.. Best bet is gonna be your Mobo is the problem, but never hurts to test other things before you RMA.

Actually I don't think the problem would be the PSU because I installed it in another computer and it was fine, the computer booted up and entered into windows normally.

About the memory maybe you are right, nevertheless I just tried to turn on the system once again but this time with no memory installed expecting a beeping sound regarding "no memory found", but again no beeping sound whatsoever.

I gonna try to unnistall and reinstall everything (even the cpu) to see if that helps......
