the above link is TomsHardware's Performance Chart for Crysis v1.21 - Fraps/Contact (1280x1024, 0xAA, Trilinear, High Quality)

Why does the 3850 CF, 4850, and 3870 outperform any other ATI cards? How can these card outperform the 4870x2?

Is there something i just dont get?

the toms charts are not the most accurate. There are so many variables and driver issues throughout all of the testing over time that things get messed up.

^+1. Well said. Not the same drivers were used for the testing, and in the case of the 4870X2 it makes quite a bit of difference ans now only has ATI optimized it for that card.
