I'd guess about that, your best et is to stick it on ebay and see what happens - you may be lucky and find two people looking for an upgrade for a P4 system or trying to make up a system out of old parts...
I wouldn't pay $30, but that's simply due to me not having any use for one and if building something I'd rather stick a 45watt Sempron in than an old P4. You probably won't get much for them as they're still easy to find, and the only people who really would look is someone who wants a dirt cheap upgrade.
Go to any major University junk pc store and you can find P4's in the dumpster
At least that was the case for my University.
Agreed.I obtained 8 Pentium 4 systems for free from a business that was closing its offices. The owner just gave them to me.I gave a few away to some friends and I sold one as well.A 3.2 Ghz HT P4 CPU wouldn't be worth very much these days especially if it's used.I would say that at best it would be worth a couple of bucks ($2 to $10).
I kept a free Athlon 64 3400+ system for myself though.
Considering that any new C2D based chip can beat the performance of that chip, and they can be found new for ~$50, I would also argue $40 max. The P4s were dogs, they aren't worth a lot of money.

I have a laptop with one of those chips in it, I wouldn't consider the whole laptop worth anything let alone that chip, perhaps pay someone to take it off your hands, anything else is immoral and practically criminal.
It's a P4 man!!!!
