Hi,

I have an HP iPAQ 5550 Pocket PC with WMP version 9 and OS is Windows CE
4.2 (As viewed via the asset manager) Not sure where else to view my PPC's
OS version

I can view most of my multi-media files on the Pocket PC but as soon as I
connect to the Internet wirelessly and browse to an accredited PPC website
and try to view multimedia files, I receive the following error "Windows
Media Player cannot play this file" This happens in ALL cases.

Any advice would be welcome. Thanx
jb

I'm not sure what you mean by accredited PPC websites. Do you have
some examples of the all-cases so we can check them out to see what's
wrong ?

Hi Neil,

When I used the term accredited I meant any website designed for PPC. For
example , there is an icon on the top left of the media player screen which
takes one to Windowsmedia.com - all links on the page produce the same
results "Media Player cannot play this file. This happens if I am connected
wirelesly or via the USB synch station

Thanx, Johnny

Check WMP settings - Network - HTPP is checked. Incase a Router/Firewall is
blocking UDP/TCP connections..

OK sure, but you understand, most of us don't have this problem, or
the newsgroup would be filling up with the same request !

So you have to tell us *where* the websites you are looking at are,
we're not mind readers ;-))

Nice way to ask for help.

Giving more than one site can be very useful as there may be a common
element common to those siteS that is causing your issue. It can help
identify the cause of *your* problem, that you want help for.

I didn't push any buttons, you guys started. The point is that it is not
the site, it's the PPC. The site is fine so something is wrong on my PPC.
Let me end this thread here and deal with the issues myself.....and thank
you for butting in with nothin other than critisism. Don't bother
responding. I won't be back

'The site' now? Does that mean it has only been this one site that has
caused you problems?

All people are trying to do is to clarify your issue, this helps in trying
to sort out just what the cause is, whereas petulance doesn't help much in
reaching a resolution.
