i have been looking for a micro ATX case but not sure about dimensions. I have a dual slot video card (nvidia GTX 260) and all the ones i see i have no idea if they will fit the video card. Something else id LIKE it to do is fit a custom heat sink such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134. Any case that isnt huge and that would be something a little more portable or that you can fit ON your desk instead of under neath it is what im after. Anyone have any ideas? Thx for all replies and constructive advice.

The depth of the micro atx tower cases is shorter than mid-tower atx and full tower atx cases mainly because micro atx motherboards are smaller. That definitely presents a problem. Some of the newer video cards can be quite long. I just took a look at the XFX GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition Core 216 GX260NADBF Video Card. It's one of those long cards that will not fit in a micro-atx case.

The width of a micro atx case is usually not a problem if you are preapred to purchase a low profile cpu heatsink. Here's a link to a web site with lots of information about low profile units:

I have a Silverstone TJ 08 m-atx case .

It will take the longest gfx cards .A gtx 260 would pose no challenges . Plenty of room . 2 x120 mm fans . quiet .

In mine I have a two slot gfx card and a scythe ninja cpu cooler , which was probably the largest cpu cooler you could buy when I got it .

A modular psu is a good idea .

And m-atx cases do not necessarily have bad cooling [ though many do ]
The same amount of fans produce higher air speeds inside a smaller case than they would in a larger case , and that can mean better cooling .
