Hi
I am thinking after many bad experience with WD drives to buy a seagate hard drive , what do you think ? I also heard that the performance of the seagate drives decreases with time, is that true ?

I read online that seagate firmware has some problems but not with 7200.12.

Thanks

yes although WD seems a little faster but as a programmer my data are so precious and WD get a deadly heart attack suddenly !!! I am going for seagate

Two questions please:
- does performance of the seagate drives decreases with time ?
- Should I get 2 tera or two drive 1 tera each ?

I'm not aware of any degradation but if this is true i'm sure it applies to all mechanical drives not just Seagate.
Size wise is totally up to you i don't know if one offers any speed advantage over the other.
What i will say is a 2tb will generate less heat and probably use less power.
