hello guys, i m a compidiot as my name mention. i have been struggling on graphic cards :\

For example HD 4850 512mb DDR3 993mhz. what is the 512mb ddr3 and 993 mhz used for?

and which is better sapphire radeon HD4870 1gb DDR5,gainward Radeon HD4870 1gb ddr5,XFX Radeon HD4870 1gb

ddr5 or palit HD4870 1GB ddr5?

and what is the best resolution for my system?

The cards are pretty much the same in the 1gb range. Some overclock them more, some provide better warranty. Out of those Xfx provides the best warranty.

There is no difference in any of those cards except for the 512 and 1gb version and the warranty the manufactuer has on those cards. The resolution does not depend on the video card but your monitor, check your monitor to see what resolution it supports up to and you'll find out your answer.
