P4P800 best choice 1G RAM

I intend to purchase 2 pieces Kingston KVR400x64C3A/1G or 2 Pieces Transcend JM388D643A - 5L for the sockets A1 and B1 of P4P800-X. Both RAMs correspond to JEDEC specification and are available in Germany from where I post this message. Transcend is not on the QVL list in the manual.

My simple performance copying test of a large file needed 105 s with the new sticks operating at 167 MHz compared to the old 512 MB sticks operating at 133 MHz with 120 s.
Question 1: I would appreciate information on a proper performance test , not functional test like memtest.
Of the 2 GB 0,8 GB are free with 25 tabs open in Firefox. This is my main application not gaming.

The new sticks and the Firefox application ask for an upgrade Processor with 800MHz FSB. The present Pentium P4 2,4 GHz with 530 MHz FSB prevents best operation at 200 MHz. From this my next question follows:
Question 2: Which processor is more advisable, a Socket 487 P4 3.0 GHz HT SL7PM FSB 800 Prescott or a P4 3.0 GHz 3.0 GHz SL6WK FSB 800 Northwood ? What is the truth about the higher heat dissipation of the Prescott? The specification is about the same +- 90 W. Both are available at fair prices.
