Records are broken all the time, and server chips scale about the same as desktops - no new news there mate.

I wonder what ram he's using because on one site I read they couldn't OC their i7 920 D0 past around 4ghz or something like that while using ram running above 1900mhz.

And he's running 5.7ghz with 1979mhz ram.

Well, the W3540 has a higher multiplier, so they can keep things like the bclk and ram at lower speeds relative to the core clock.

Now theres big news...........haven't we already seen a X4 955 at 7.1ghz? Or remember the P4 631 at 8.1ghz?

5.6GHz is not a record , the X4 955 hit 6.8Ghz and there are many more over 5.6GHz. Your in the Database, check it out
