Hi, built a computer for the first time about two weeks ago. Here are the parts I used:

Intel E5200
Gigabyte EP45-DS3L
Patriot Viper 2x2GB PC6400
Antec Earthwatts 380W

Been doing some overclocking(just to 3.1 ~ 3.2), so started Prime95 in the morning for some testing. (Temperatures stay at around 50 degrees during prime)

When I came home the computer had shut off and when I pressed the power button nothing happened...fans don't even turn on.

So I thought it was a PSU issue and swapped the PSU with a 350W generic power supply that was in my other computer. Same result.

I then tried the Antec PSU in my other system...and it doesn't turn on either.

I also tried shorting the CLR_CMOS jumper but that didn't do anything.

Is there anything else I should do? Other than the power supply and mobo, what else could be causing the problem?

Also, is it common for a bad PSU to fry the motherboard and vice versa?

Thanks

If your other computer is powered by a generic PSU, that PSU may not be able to power your new system. The Antec, if working, should be able to power the old system. Because it doesn't ...
