When will the next GPU come?

I have 8800 GTX sli system and it has served me well for the last 2 years.

When will the next PC GPU upgrade be needed?

At the moment it looks like consoles are depicting the market.

When will the next graphics revolution come?

The next gen consoles?

Is it worth keeping a top class rig going?

Apart from mods what is the future?

The 8800GTX in SLi is a kick ass system and don't think you need to upgrade until DX11 which i'm guessing and is rumoured to be the end of the year. I'm upgrading very soon myself and my current shopping list has just reached £1,500.00 Ouch!!! At the end of the day the PC offers the very best in gaming as they are so much more powerful than consoles. Obviously it comes at a high price and it's down to the individual if you think it's worth it or not.
My son has an XBOX 360 and I must admit for the money it's bloody good. However after to comparing it to a freinds high end PC there is no comparison. Personally I am choosing to upgrade because I want the very best gaming experience and in that sense the PC is the only option.

As regards to the next graphics revolution I'm seriously looking at the GTX 295 as the 3D stereoscopic, PhysX and CUDA all look very interesting. However I can't wait until DX11 just check out my sig.....
