Length is the big issue, I probably can't fit any thing bigger than 9.5 inches long. Can anyone help me out?

I plan on gaming at 1900x1200 and have a 250 dollar maximum budget.

I really appreciate it.

with a 4870 1 GB, you'll stay well below budget.

My 4870 is just a little bit longer than 9.5 inches. Got that 'extra' room ?

Thanks for the answers guys! $4870 it is then. I just hope it fits.

Also, to the poster above me, the video card isn't for me. It's my mother's computer who recently got into computer gaming. However her case is a little on the small side and is resistant to getting a new case.

EDITS: I meant to put case instead of card.

Check the Power Supply in her Computer that it is enough to power a HD4870,
required connectors and Interface.

I just bought her a new power supply so I don't have to worry about that.

And everything checks off, just the case is a little small.

Did you buy her a new cpu? If you have a old CPU then it will bottleneck the card, and you won't see the performance you paid for.

Just for the chance of a "crap it doesn't fit" scenario this GTS250 A.K.A. 9800GTX+ which has lower performance then the HD4870 512, let alone the 4870 1GB uses a shorter then standard board and is only about 8 1/2 inches long. $150
