Hello, I have a 2002 Dell 2400 computer, and it has PCI graphics/video card slots, which sucks cause i would rather have AGP. Anyways i was just wondering if PCI-E video cards went in the same slots as PCI. This question may be dumb, but i couldnt find this out anywhere. Thanks!

Pci-Express is not compatible with PCI.

I know that its pretty confusing (since they named it pci express), but a pci-e video card will not work in a pci slot.
......but think of the bright side, its time to upgrade! lol

Build a new system.Your current rig is outdated and NOT upgradeable.Sorry to put it to you this way,but a new system is the only way to get what you want.Try looking at Tiger direct and see what they have for barebones systems, then add a video card, transfer over your hardrive and operating system.Probably the cheapest way to go.Goodluck.

Its actually surprisingly cheaper to build your own computer, rather than buy a pre-made one. It not that hard either.
You dont really need anything fancy. Just maybe a Micro-ATX motherboard, a new CPU, and then a new Graphics card. Although you should tell us your PSU make and wattage before doing so.

here is an example:

Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128376

CPU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819103300

Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814161252

added up, it costs around $220.....reasonable price for an exceptional upgrade :D.

Also, as Dahak said, look for a barebone system (its basically a put it together yourself system) and then add a graphics card.
