Edit: The GPU is overkill for a non-gaming computer, but CS4 has GPU acceleration for both ATI and Nvidia GPU's.

The 4830 should provide some nice acceleration for a low price.

This RAM is $75 less.

A Caviar Black 640GB performs nearly as well as the Velociraptor for $120 less.

A Corsair VX450 is slightly better (Seasonic built) and more than enough power.

Do you have a monitor already? If not, that money would be better spent on one suitable for photo editing.

I noticed that you have recomended the intel cpu. If I can get a AMD 3.2 quad for less, is that going to be better? If not, why? What should I be looking for in a processor? Does photoshop really make use of a quad chip or just one chip at a time?
