I have a Asus Eee PC 701, its current processer is a Mobile IntelĀ® CeleronĀ® Processor 353 (link)http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL7F7(link) would i be correct in thinking that the 390 series will work in this laptop or will it run hot? it has the same architecture, but im still not shure. thanks. :)

The 353 has a TDP of 5W whereas the 390 has a TDP of 27W so even if it was physically possible to change it and it was electrically/BIOS compatible (which it probably isn't) it would run too hot.

Find the service manual online. It should list what CPUs are compatible with the motherboard.
