Hey guys, so my little brother was playing Crysis: Warhead on my PC this morning while I was at work. I guess the computer lost video when he was playing, the fan then went to 100% and stayed there (Great...). So when I get home, I realize the problem, boots with no video on 100% fan speed. So I re-seat the graphics card, do the cmos, try a different monitor(my TV) same thing. When he was playing my fan was probably at default (25%) and there was no OC, I usually play crysis on 40% (keeps it under 55c, 60c w/OC) or it does tend to get a little warm when on 25%, (60-70c) but nothing serious, so I don't know if it is from overheating or not. The graphics card will usually jolt to 100% for a couple senconds if it breaks 60c but he said he didn't hear it. Anyways, am I missing something? I don't have another GPU quite yet to test with but I'm pretty sure the rest of my hardware is fine.

GPU: 48701GB Sapphire (3 months old)

MB: Abit QuadGT X38

(DirectX/Drivers up to date even though I'm sure that doesn't matter here)

OS: Windows XP

Thanks!

I'm having the same exact problem. I think that my motherboard might be fried, and that might be the case for you too.

I dropped in an 8800GT and it ran flawlessly... I'm thinking it might be the card... =/. I'm going to toss it in a different computer sometime tomorrow and I'll let you know what happens.
