Still based on Intel’s 45nm process, this new Atom (codenamed Pineview...yes, confusing) brings both the memory controller and GPU core on-die. The current Atom for netbooks/nettops is codenamed Diamondville.

The Pineview CPU connects over Intel’s DMI to its new South Bridge, codenamed Tiger Point.

See, we're already seeing the benefits of AMD's ATI aquisition, on-die graphics!

Wow. Looks interesting.

Wounder what gen GPU they plan on using.... And I am guessing it will of course be 45nm based graphics since its goign to be on the CPU itself....

This is just a new northbridge, the CPU is exactly the same... What they are doing is a MCM tyoe thing with multiple dies on the chip, one being this new northbridge...

Um... no. Pineview is much closer to SoC than just a CPU.

The CPU in this case is the next version of the Atom core. Still based on Intel’s 45nm process, this new Atom (codenamed Pineview...yes, confusing) [b said:

More likely a Atom + G45 die shrink w/better HD decode on the same die.

With an in-oder arch, the lowing bandwidth bottleneck will increase performance alot.
