Hello everyone. I'm having an issue with my sound as indicated in the Thread subject. When using the onboard sound (SoundMAX - Analog Devices) for surround sound, I get only stereo. In the sound setup (SoundMAX menu), it doesn't allow me to drop down the tab bar and select any other configurations (5.1).

I am using an optical cable (SPDIF) that connects into an LG amplifier. The amplifier supports Dolby Surround, DTS, WMA, etc..

I am wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem?

Your issue may be due to a limitation by your motherboard itself. The onboard video of many mobos does a great job, but aren't exactly full-featured.

I've wondered that myself, as well. However, the motherboard specs tout the feature of 7.1 surround sound. I'm just looking for 5.1, lol.

Thanks for the reply.
