Game capable Hybrid SLI question

I am building an "all purpose" home theatre PC on a budget.

Mobo:

GIGABYTE GA-E7AUM-DS2H
LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 9400 HDMI Micro ATX
Intel Motherboard Core 2 DUO
FSB 1333/1066MHz

there is a Twin discrete Video card available for 70 bucks

GIGABYTE GV-N94TOC-1GH
GeForce 9400 GT 1GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16
SLI Supported Video Card


is it worthwhile to add a PCI Express 2.0 x16 graphics accelerator using the Nvidia Hybrid SLI feature of the motherboard?
Does it work well?

would a card with the same Nvidia Chipset as the mobo work best, or should I go for a higher-end card like a GIGABYTE GV-N98TOC-1GH GeForce 9800 GT?

I am not willing to spend the bucks needed for a 200 series Nvidia card.

Add a card. You are likely to experience artifacts, frame skipping/jumping... with the onboard graphics. A lot of good options for $100-120 from both Nvidia and ATI that will give superior BluRay/HD playback.

its a bad idea to use a 3D gaming gfx card in a computer used for home theater .Theyre noisy , generally too hot for htpc cases and use more power .

Build your system and see if play back is as smooth as you hope . If not then add a gfx card. A very cheap passively cooled gfx card
