Help with RAM question

I am not really good with computers sorry.
My laptop has only 2G of RAM, so i decided to buy 2 G more. I brougtht this http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-CT256...Laptop/dp/B000F7QRTG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top so I can take 1G out and put the 2G in so i have 3 G.
From cpuz it says my laptop use PC2-5300 (333Mhz) rams in both slots. So will what I brought work?
what if the 1G in slot 1 is slower speed than the 2G in slot 2? ( 333Mhz compared to 667Mhz).

It will work, but it won't be maximized. Basically, your RAM sticks will run at the speed of the slowest one, which is in this case the 333 MHz.

PC2-5300 runs at 667Mhz. I am sorry if I am misunderstanding your question, but it looks like what you are reading in cpu-z is the data rate: 333Mhz.

Since it is ddr2 ram, it's actual (or effective) speed would be 667Mhz. (333 X2)

so even if the speed is still 333, the increased size from 2 G to 3G will still help my laptop run a lil faster right?
