i am debating whether to get a i7 or a am3. the lower the budget the better,
i have alot of media and play alot of games. i wont be playing games like crysis more like call of duty and so on...
i want this to last at least 2 years
thanks in advance

I7 is faster for multi GFX setup's, otherwise the AM3's pull ahead, and the 720 BE has a far better price/performance ratio than the I7. They also overclock slightly better on average.

Right now for parts

720 BE
4870
AM3 790GX mobo
Corsair TwinX 2x2gb 1600mhz (seems to be the best price/performance DDR3 at the moment.)
OCZ/PCP&C/Corsair/Seasonic PSU
Akasa Nero (best Performance/Noise ratio Fan)

why recomend the op to buy an ocz power supply, they suck at making them thats why they bought pcp@c so they could get money in from selling power supplies somewhere other than their own, alot of ppl know ocz makes cheap bad powersuplies
