Hi everyone.

In my new apartment we have 1 router for out internet connection. The other couple living with us want there own router as there wireless connection only goes for a few meters before cutting out.

I recall when in another residence we tried putting two routers in seperate phone jacks and apparently it did something to the feed in our phone line and needed to be reset by the company.

So i am wondering if 2 routers accessing the same connection is possible? Can i go out to my local computer hardware store and purchase a second router to run simultaneously with our existing one?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I would recommend getting a switch. You would still be able to use both routers after the switch.

So the line would come in from the ISP, then to the modem, then to the switch, then use one port from the switch to Router#1, use another port from the switch to Router#2, then plug in whatever PC's or make whatever wireless connections from each router as you would normally.
