I recently cleaned off one of my laptops and i believe that I may have removed a file that assists in the process of connecting my second laptop to the wireless network. What file might I have deleted?

Have a look at the user interface for your wireless adapter (or Windows Networking) and check that it's saving the settings (sometimes called creating a profile).
