reset your bios. there should be a little jumper or button on the motherboard. see the manual

i lost the manual,but i got it working now.(thank god).I think i fried 1 (256mb ram)when i tried with that ram computer(both peeped),but if i removed that 256mb and just installed 512 mb ram i worked just fine.

if you lost the manual all you have to do to get it is to go to the motherboard manufacturers website to get a copy of it

how many sticks of ram do you have altogether 2 or 3?

i had 2
now 1

if it just 1 stick it could be defective or possibly in the wrong memory slot? make sure your installing it in slot 1. it should be marked on the board which order the memory slot are in but if not you need the manual to find out.
