My friend is having a strange internet issue: He can't access the internet through internet explorer OR firefox... BUT he can access the internet through AOL 9.

I couldn't even ping a remote server until he booted up AOL 9, but even after ping works, the browsers wouldn't work, and they aren't configured to use a proxy. He has DSL through AT&T.

Any ideas?

Aol is evil get rid of all traces then you can try to fix the rest
