Hi...i had a desktop custom build bout alittle over a year ago....today i went to turn it on and i'm getting just a black screen on my monitor...the fans power up, the hd powers up the whole computer in general sounds as though it did everytime i even booted it up before...i thought it may have been a video card issue, so i tried my old one and nothing...same with the monitor, i tried my old one and still getting nothing on screen...i'm not sure what the problem could be...maybe the mobo went bad? maybe my cpu? Here are my general specs i'm running

all parts are about 14 months old:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L P35
Q6600
EVGA 512-P3-N802-A1 GeForce 8800GT Superclocked 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express

First impression sounds like your psu.

Sorry I'm kinds of a noon somewhat. So even if the psu is bad it will still run everything just not load up my os? I'm hoping that's it cause I tried a new cord other ram. Evrything else. How do I know if it's say the motherboard?

It may have enough power to run fans and HD, but not enough to power the monitor. Or, it may not be powering the cpu (check the 4/8 pin cpu power).

I just installed a brand new psu. And still nothing. Any other suggestions ?

Ok
1. remove the board from the case and set on cardboard next to case.
2. make sure the 4/8 pin cpu power is plugged in
2. remove everything and boot with only 1 stick of RAM, HD, and video card
3. if it doesn't work, try the ram in each slot, then the other stick(s), if you have any
