Hello all,

I'm having some trouble tweaking the RAM to run at the specified speed of 1600MHz.....currently running at 1066MHz.

Here's the setup:

MSI X58 Pro
Intel i7 920 (running at stock speeds for now)
Cooler Master Storm Scout Case
Cooler Master Hyper N520 CPU Cooler
3 x 2GB OCZ Platinum DDR3 RAM 1600MHz
Corsair Memory 650W PSU
XFX Radeon HD 4850 1GB GDDR3
Window 7 RC Build 7100 64-bit

I'm guessing the SATA drives info is not needed, but if it is, I'll be glad to post it.

The bios has the timing set to auto....I did try manually setting the timings of 7-7-7-24 @ 1.64V, and 7-7-7-20 @1.64V, but the board won't post after doing so.

I've had to clear the CMOS a few times......Can anyone suggest timings that could push the memory up to it's stock speed? If more information from the Bios is needed please let me know (I'm not by the computer, and I failed to write the settings down) I'm really not sure what to set the Uncore Freq to as well....

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Edit: submitted before I was actually done...whoops

I'm not that familiar with OCing an i7 platform, but have you tried modifying the Memory Bclk?

the stock voltage is 1.8v try bumping it up to stock voltage

Any voltage over 1.65V can damage the i7's memory controller....so can't do with 1.8V.

I'm not very familiar with the Memory Bclk...is that the Uncore Frequency?
