I have been searching for this chipset driver for a while. I have an SM Bus with a yellow ! in my device manager and I think thats the chipset but I can't seem to locate where to download it at.

Some people say at the ati amd site because my cpu is amd athlon 64 x2 4200+ socket am2 940. My motherboard is a F690GVM if that matters.

I used CPU-Z to find out that information.

thanks for any help!

A quick google confirmed you're running an AMD chipset. Try the following support link at AMD.

AMD RS690 Chipset

You have to go to the motherboards manufacturer site and look up your exact model and it should give a download page for all drivers in reference to the motherboard.

Im to ass-u-me that this motherboard is in a prebuilt system (such as dell, hp etc,...) and if thats the case then you can go to the manufacturers website and look up the model of your pc and get it there. If its an older system then you will have to hope they have it archived so you can still look it up.

You didnt provide enough info for me to help you out. With the info I just gave you it should be easier for you to do yourself now...

it is an acer system and of course I went there first to check their site but there is no chipset driver there. Every other driver is there but not that one.

It's just really confusing me, amd has it, or acer the manufacturer of my MB has it? Very confusing who is responsible for this driver.

Thanks for any help guys.

USB drivers are usually downloaded through the microsoft updates.
