Hey all, I'm about to buy a new computer and wanted to make sure the ASUS M3N72-D, Onboard Video, HDMI, SLI PCI-EX, GB LAN, iEEE was a motherboard that would have all the things I will need to play top of the line games for the next year or two.

Also, under Network Cards, I'm assuming the Ethernet network adapter that comes with it will be able to pick up wireless... there are other options such as Wireless 802.11 N 150MBs Network Card PCI

The onboard video will not be cable of playing "top of the line games for the next year or two." On the lowest possible settings, you might barely manage to play a few current games, but probably not to your satisfaction. A 790GX board will do little better, but will likely be more stable.
Plan on spending AT LEAST $100 for a video card (HD4850), and make sure the PSU is of sufficient quality and capacity to power it.
And no, motherboard Ethernet adapters use a wired connection with a standard RJ45 plug, so you'll need an add-in card to get wireless.
If you want better suggestions, please provide more information. There's a sticky on how to ask for advice on new builds; please read it and post your answers.

Onboard will not play top of the line games now, let alone for the next year or two.

You can get motherboards with wired and wireless networking. My P35 based Asus has two wired ports, and a wireless add in card. Take a look around, you might find one.
