System log corrupted.system hangs and task manager does not work

IBM lenova thinkpad hangs during work and task manager does not start so has to power off the system.
After restart the message pops up saying the system has recovered from a serious error check the system logs.But the logs are corrupted.Please Help

Go to the event viewer - System - section and click on the errors, post up more details of your findings.
