Hi all,

Am having a bizarre problem with my display at the moment. It's on a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop with Windows XP Home using a Intel 915GM integrated graphics chip.

The other day I had to do a system restore to recover from windows error, and since then I am stuck with the bizarre situation of seeming to be in 16 (or less?) BIT colour even though I'm in 32bit. The issue arises when in Firefox or IE - I can't view anything other than GIF files, so any website using JPEGS, PNGS etc looks ridiculous. Also Office 2007 looks terrible as a result.

Screenshots below.

I have updated the graphics driver (have to use a 2006 one as nothing other than a Dell provided driver works), uninstalled the display adapters and reinstalled and reset windows to "For best appearance" but none has made a different. Any ideas?
