So I finally built my new PC and here are the specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket AM3

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s

G.SKILL F3-12800CL6D-4GBPI Pi Series 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL6-8-6-24

Coolermaster Silent Pro 1000W Modular Power Supply SLI ATX12V 24PIN Active PFC PCI-E 135mm Fan

Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus

Ati Radeon HD 5970

Antec 1200 case

I am new to O/C so I guess the main thing that will give me a big boost would be overclocking my CPU. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is a pretty good primer for AMD CPU overclocking. A good place to start for OC newbies:

The main thing to be concerned with is that you monitor your temps as you make adjustments. I recommend you dl AMD overdrive. Make your adjustments in windows to monitor stability and temps, then exit the program and make the corresponding changes in the bios.
