From what I read on MSI's website, the MB only supports DDR3 in DDR2 mode. While this doesn't violate JEDEC DDR3 standards, it does negate the benefit of utilizing the full bandwidth of DDR3 in DDR3 mode. DDR3 is also more expensive than DDR2, at least her in AUS, so where's the gain?
Unless there's a specific feature on the GX that's not on the FX, why not go with a true DDR2 board, with DDR2 RAM?
