SAS connector

Hello,

I bought a HDD SEAGATE 15K.5 300GB. I have a MB that supports SAS HDDs and came with 4 SAS/SATA cables but as you can see in the picture below the connectors for the power and data are "linked" together, so I cannot simply use those cables. What kind of connector I need to connect this HDD?

  1. its called Google babay.

this hdd is made for RAID cages. you secure the drive to the tray and it slides in and connects to the backplane. some modern cases have them built in, or you could look for a cage somewhere, but its not a desktop product so that's why its not designed to fit in a desktop.
  2. Edit - misread the post
  3. You would not be able to use a regualer sata cable on that drive as you can already see in blackmancers image ther should be a cable adaption for the item, if you have a look around on online stores.

    here you go

    http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=sas+cable+adapter&oe=&cid=10497180477887523818&ei=PfOJTMG5LYTk2ATKiZ2_DA&sa=title&ved=0CAcQ8wIwADgA#p

This should be much cheaper and easier it is just an adaption of ports.

    Kindest Regards Rob."
