This is what i think im going to go with if my motherboard can handle it...

Processor:
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops
or
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

willits479 ( aford10 ) is right theirs no way the ecs 945 will support the E8400 or the E8500,I believe the p35 and up will support the E8400 & E8500.

If you want the E8xx series cpu and the gtx260, you are going to have to upgrade your board, which is also going to require you to upgrade the RAM. You are basically looking at a new build. You could keep the case, hd, and opticals to save some $$. You are looking at ~$500 for those.

If you wanted to cut some off of that, I would recommend the 4850 video card instead.

ok well without having to get a new board what is the best processor and video card i could get with my current motherboard?

It would probably work with a bios flash. The cpu support list is sometimes like the memory support list (incomplete). The board supports that FSB, the e5200 is just clocked faster.

Not saying it WOULD work, just saying I think it might.

Ya, you have one pcie x 16 slot. But, your board and cpu are really going to handicap a good video card. There isn't much point in buying a $200 video card with your setup, unless you are planning an overhaul in the next 5 months or so.
