3 9800GTs (not in sli)

Okay well I am planning to get 3 9800GTs, however I will not be connecting them via SLI. Each card is going to power two 22" 1680x1050 monitor. So that is a total of 6 monitors. Now my other hardware will be an i7 920, Asus P6T, 6-12GB OCZ DDR3 1600, Antec 1200, Barracuda 1.5TB, and a WD 300GB. Now my question is what type of power supply should I be getting? I was thinking the Corsair 1000HX 1000W power supply, but sadly it only has 2 6 pin connectors. The 9800GT is powered by a 6 pin pci e connector, so I need a minimum of 3 to power them. Here are some choices I have rounded up..

you can use 8 pin connectors in a 6 pin socket as well.

Oh really? So as long as it fits it doesn't have to be the exact amount of sockets? That's cool. Do you have a power supply recommendation, or atleast a recommended wattage?

Why not just get some cards that don't require connectors? 9400GT or HD4350.
