are SSDs for laptops also works on desktop?

im in japan right now and all i see are buffalo SSDs with a picture of a laptop in the back..

if they also work pls let me know i wanna buy 1...

They'll work fine, but not all SSDs are the same. Some of the older SSDs used in netbooks are horribly slow, even worse than HDDs. Avoid anything in the <16GB range and you should be fine (not that you can fit much on such a small SSD anyway).

Laptop drive will work fine. The only issue is that your desktop may not have a laptop-sized drive bay - but it's easy to find brackets that let you mount a laptop drive in a desktop drive bay.
